Eva's Cousin

A young German woman visits her cousin Eva at a mountain resort. Eva just happens to be Hitler's mistress, Eva Braun, and Eva's cousin Marlene--many years later--must face her guilt at being involved, even minimally, in the workings of the Nazi regime. The story culminates in Marlene's decision to give shelter to an escapee from a work camp, right under the nose of Hitler's SS men. A New York Times Notable Book for 2002.
